Greetings and Salutations to one and all.  September got off to a jet ski bang with SCJR.  A few of us spent the first weekend of the new month in the Florida Keys riding the beautiful green waters of the bay and ocean.  Besides putting over 150 miles on our trusty rides we got in some snorkeling as well.  A few other members followed BILL HILLS south from Lone Cabbage all the way to the dam and then turned around and rode north up to around Route 50!!  So the good news is that the St John's is no longer off limits due to low water.  The other good news is that the way is clear all the way to the dam.  The only bad news is that there still is not enough water on the north side of the dam to traverse the dam and get back over it.  The water flowing north over the dam is amazing but it is only about a foot deep at the top of the dam and then it drops off precipitously.  So we need some more rain and lots more folks that want to get their jet skis out of the garage and ride!!!!   Now there is a novel idea, ride a jet ski instead of letting it collect dust in the garage.  Forgive my sarcasm, I come by it naturally.  Other stuff planned for the month includes a charity ride by the ORLANDO WATERCRAFT RIDERS on the 17th.  RODDEY will follow up with directions and itinerary.  Just know that these folks have come out in large numbers to support our RIVER RALLY.  Our support of their event has typically been abysmal.  This year they are raising money for "Give Kids the World" and to support our very own Denise Bohland as she continues her battle with cancer.  This event is her baby and she would be neck deep in the plans and efforts to insure its success were it not for her cancer battle.  If for some reason you can't support the ride maybe you can at least sit down and send a check for $10, $20, or $50.  Heck if you drove over and rode your ski you would probably spend more than $50 between the gas in your car and the gas in your ski.  RODDEY or myself will get you an address so you can support these worthy causes.  And know, that if you or one of your own needed help, OWR has already demonstrated their willingness to travel over here to support SCJR and you.  Should they expect any less from us?

Keep posted to the forum and emails as the month progresses for ride and event updates.  God bless one and all and remember-RIDE SAFE, RIDE SMART.-Capt Curt
