Howdy mateys!!! Welcome to December and another great month
to be a SCJR clubber! We had our transition board meeting and
everything went smoothly. I can tell you that I am excited about the
excitement and ideas of the new officers. SHARON HORSMAN
is going to be our new VP and KITT KINNEY is going to be our
Secretary and ALICIA FANNON will step up and be our Treasurer.
I want to say on behalf of the club a great big thank you for a job well
done to JOHN WILANSKY for 3 years as our VP, to JOHN
KEREKES for 8 years as Treasurer, and to TOM WILSON for 4
years of hilarity as our Secretary. Theirs will be big shoes to fill but
I'm thrilled to have such capable folks that care enough about our club
to step forward and give of their time and their talents. I'm still
looking
for someone to come forward to volunteer as President. Any takers?
You can call me if you have any interest with no obligation on your part,

We are already planning our next events. Sharon has graciously agreed
to duplicate last year's Holiday Event at her and John's house scheduled
for December 27th. Please make plans to be there you'll be glad you
did. I hope our new members will make an effort to attend. We would
like you to feel like part of the group and take part in some merriment.
Sharon will be sending out a detailed invite so keep a close eye out for
that. Plans are also being made for our 4th Annual RIVER RALLY.
Last year we raised $2,000 for the Candle Lighters to help families with
kids with cancer. Since this is our premier event of the year it would
be terrific if we got 100% attendance from our club members. Mark
your calendars for the first Saturday of June, the 6th. It is a lot of
fun
and we are going to make every effort to get some other AWA clubs
involved. We are going to shoot for $3,000 this year and you can
help us achieve our goal. Please plan on being there.
We are looking for a new meeting place. Beef O'Bradys is our first
choice at Lake Washington and Wickham Roads. BUT...they have
a dive club that has been meeting there on the second Tues of every
month for the last 4 years. So do we want to switch our meeting nites
to the first Tues or some other nite? O'Bradys is a great venue for
us because it is pretty central in location and they have great finger
foods like wings, appetizers, and sandwiches which means folks could
actually eat at the meetings. Now that's a novel idea. Send me a quick
email with your opinion or call me at 591 6557 and we will keep you
posted. There is lots more to share but I'm getting a little long winded
here so you'll have to come to our Jan meeting to get filled in on the
rest. We will also plan some rides for December. Don't forget our
RIDE SATURDAY this Saturday at SCJR Park. And if you haven't
done so lately, check out our website.
