Howdy fellow clubbers and welcome to the ninth month
of the year. The month of LABOR DAY, YOM KIPPUR,
ROSH HASHANAH, and of course the FIRST DAY OF
AUTUMN!!! The first day of autumn doesn't mean much to
us folks down here in God"s Country cause we still have
months and months of riding season left.

In fact we have a full month planned. We already had our
monthly clean up and ride from SCJR Park. A bunch of us
rode down and met up with GORDON AND ANN at
Capt Hiram's where they spent Labor Day week end.

Next up, yours truly is flying up to NJ to do some more
jetskiing on the Delaware River, the weekend of the 8th.
So say some prayers for travel mercies if you are given
to do such things.

Then the next weekend we are participating in a county wide
clean up with KEEP BREVARD BEAUTIFUL on Saturday
the 15th. Besides receiving a free T shirt you'll get a feeling
of satisfaction knowing you've done something positive for
our county, our very own INDIAN RIVER, and for yourself.
We will have more details but know that we have volunteered
to clean an island in the river in Grant so you'll have an excuse
to ride and to do a good deed. TOM WILSON will have
more details for us.

The very next day on the 16th "Captain Terrific" aka DANNY
OLIVER will take us on a tour up the ST JOHN'S RIVER
from LONE CABBAGE FISH CAMP. This is one of my
favorite rides in the whole state. This ride is dependent upon
good water depth. Since depth is critical, we can't always make
this trip, so when you can, it makes it that much more special.
JOHN WILANSKY will email you with more information
about this event as well.

Then on the 29th we will all get a chance at another water depen-
dent venue, THE KISSIMEE RIVER from Route 60 west of
Vero down to LAKE OKEECHOBEE. This is a phenomenal
ride and we will be led by CAPTAIN NEMO, aka BRAD GILBERT.
This ride is full of twisties and beautiful Florida scenery with few
if any houses on the entire 70 odd miles we'll travel. You'll see
Florida at its natural best. We'll dine and get gas when we get
to a marina on the north side of Okeechobee. We'll rest awhile
and then head back north.

Another exciting fun filled month for the clubbers of SCJR. Don't
forget our meeting on Tuesday the 11th. Come grab some grub
and hang with your fellow riders. See ya there-RIDE SAFE,
RIDE SMART-Curt
