Welcome to November, the month of election day, Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving.
November is also the month that we start winding down and start counting
the days till Christmas and the New Year.
With Thanksgiving at the end of the month there won't be much time for
official rides but JOHN W has put together a ride for Sun. the 13th for
those interested. The weather should be in the low 80's and will be bright
and sunny. Meet at the Lake Washington boat ramp at 10am and bring lunch.
We'll travel to the dam to see what the water depth looks like then head
south as far as we can go. Then John K and Alan Whelpley have found a
canal that is long and straight with lots of gators that we can zoom through.
The canal ends at a quiet field with lots of trees on the bank where we
can hang and have lunch. Contact John W at 720 9200 if you have any interest.
Or if you have any ideas for your own ride let the club know and give
folks choices.
Don't forget our meeting this Tues nite at Chowders on the River. GAIL
AMBROSE will bring us up to date on the Christmas Parade. Several folks,
including GORDON MARK have expressed an interest in helping her with this
project. So if you have any interest in participating in the parade or
helping, show up Tue nite for the discussion and we'll gauge the interest
to see if in fact we will move forward on this project. We will also entertain
discussion on the upcoming elections and whether we want to do a Christmas
party. So come on out, share some grub with your fellow clubbers and spend
a quiet evening on the shores of the Indian River at Chowders Restaurant.
The update on DANNY OLIVER is quite positive. He is feeling much better
but will be out of work for the forseeable future due to pain and lack
of mobility. He and DEBBIE thank everyone for their concern and prayers.
I want to thank TOM WILSON, his son JOSH and JOHN KEREKES for stepping
up for the club and doing the cleanup at the Pineda Boat Ramp on 4th.
Thanks guys.
One last note. I spent last weekend in the Keys and I am happy to say
MARY MANNEQUIN is still guarding the entrance to Toilet Seat Pass. However,
her bathing suit has disappeared!!! She still has her cowboy hat though.
I didn't have my camera handy so I wasn't able to bring back photographic
evidence. You'll just have to take my word for it.
RIDE SAFE, RIDE SMART-
Your humble President-Curt
