Meeting Minutes — October 2005
Tuesday,
October 11, 2005
The meeting was called
to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Farieda Reardon . There were 11members
present, 4 guests and 3 children.
OLD BUSINESS:
This month's Cleanup was done by Tom wilson, Tim Mckercher on the usual
first Saturday of the month. About 10 gallons of trash was collected and
disposed of. The rough winds and waves discouraged any club ride.
Keep brevard beautiful had a recent breakfast award ceremony
that several club members attended. We were reminded that to receive credit
for cleanups we need to turn in reports within 10 days.
A rally report was given, it was a great venue according
to members who attended and as usual SCJR members won prizes. The first
place poker run rider was a first time participant and he donated the
winnings back into the rally series.
NEW BUSINESS:
Christmas party was discussed again and it was decided that it will be
held on saturday night, December 17th at Makoto's and those who wish to
stay after dinner can attend the comedy club.
PRESIDENT REPORT:
Farieda
reminded all that club elections will be coming up in a couple months,
start thinking about officer positions to fill. She suggested that a new
position of a club ambassador might be a good idea, someone to represent
the club at AWA type functions to help promote SCJR.
We were also reminded that that dues need to be paid,
send in now if you haven't done so already.
V.P. REPORT:
Rick was present, still unable to ride due to mechanical
problems with his ski's.
TREASURER REPORT:
(Not present)
EVENT COORDINATOR:
Ride coordinator Fran Miron reminded all of rides/
trips coming up. Next cleanup and ride is at 10:00 on saturday November
5th. Discussed the Suwannee postponement and rescheduling, will send out
emails to get club member input.
WEBMASTER:
(Not present)
SECRETARY REPORT:
Tom Wilson
(myself ) was present and presented the minutes from September for review.
A motion was made to accept the minutes.
LEGISLATIVE REPORT:
None.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
Lou did member
spotlight on Tom Wilson ( myself ) . He repeated to the club that i have
enjoyed meeting new riders in the club and my favorite experience to date
was the weekend trip to lovers key resort.
GUEST SPEAKER:
Lou Lemier spoke on trailer tires. Many good tips, most
important being maintaining proper tire pressures, replace tires every
3 to 5 years max ( he recommends every 2 years ) and pay special attention
to load range when purchasing.
ADJOURNMENT
A good time was held by all. Very productive and informative meeting was
adjourned by Farieda at 7:42 pm. If you were not able to attend, please
