Minutes — May 2004
Tuesday,
May 11, 2004
The meeting
was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President, Rick Charshafian. There
were 25 present. There were two groups of guests, who became members at
the meeting.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Rick reviewed the times and details for 1st Saturday rides and park cleanup.
It was decided to resurrect the club newsletter. Peter will get it started.
Rick requested that Club members submit articles to Peter for the newsletter.
The club banner has been located.
NEW
BUSINESS:
None
PRESIDENT
REPORT:
President, Rick Charshafian, opened the meeting with a welcome to all
present. Rick announced the names of two new members not present at the
meeting, and introduced the guests present at the meeting.
At the last
Board Meeting, there was discussion regarding how to encourage club members
to become board members. Board members get their AWA dues paid ($24/year).
V.P.
REPORT:
Vice President was attending his daughter’s graduation. Therefore,
there was no report.

COORDINATOR:
June 5, 2004 - Monthly Indian river run with Front Street Park Cleanup
- 9:30 a.m.
June 12, 2004 - Club picnic at Sebastian Inlet State Park
June 19, 2004 - Poker Run to Stuart
July 16, 17, 18, 2004 - Lover’s Key, Fort Myers. Link to our website
to make hotel reservations.
September 18-19, 2004 - Savannah, GA
Will try to set up a ride to Titusville.
TREASURER
REPORT:
John passed around the Treasurer Report for review by the members present
at meeting.
Treasurers’ report was approved. John offered hats and decals for
sale.

REPORT:
Minutes were

NEWSLETTER
CHAIRPERSON:
Minutes
were approved.
LEGISLATIVE
REPORT:
Curt Smith announced that the House Bill was accepted/passed and will
go to Governor’s desk. Requested members to send affirmative letters
vs. emails as envelopes from letters are counted, and make more impact
than emails. The club gained national recognition in two magazines –
WaterCraft Magazine and RIDE Magazine.
Farieda continues
to work diligently towards corporate sponsorships with House of Power,
Yamaha, and more..
LEGISLATIVE
REPORT:
Lou Lemire
did a great demonstration on trailer maintenance and repair. He used a
model demonstrating how to hook up lights, ground, turn signals etc.,
as well as discussion about trailer wheels, brakes, maintenance.
Next month
the speaker will be John Chase, Grant Engines. He will be bringing a mechanic
with him to the meeting.
Rick did
a recap of upcoming events, and announced the next Board Meeting, which
is June 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Conchy Joe’s. He invited membership to
attend.
