Meeting Minutes April ‘07

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by President Curt Smith at chowders restaurant in Melbourne and 20 members were present..
GUEST SPEAKER: Russell Jaimason from Atlas Insurance gave an informative overview of why you should have insurance for you watercraft. He reminded us that you can use a higher deductible for big discounts. He is seeing some relief on homeowner’s insurance prices, 23% to 42% by some companies lately.
OLD BUSINESS: none
NEW BUSINESS : Karen Fleckinger volunteered to be our merchandise chairperson to handle the inventory and sales of shirts, hats, rashgaurds etc,. Maureen Lemos volunteered to lead the effort in getting a booth for the Friday fest in Melbourne from 6-10pm next month on May 11th.
PRESIDENT REPORT: Discussed upcoming river rally at rotary park in June, need volunteers for food and prizes. Brought the new shirts for sale. Announced new members Scott and Michelle Brown. Curt also spoke of the news that the Manatees status is supposed to be downgraded but it will take a year or two.
V.P. REPORT: .John W. spoke about upcoming rides, Indian and Banana River run through the barge canal and visiting ski island. Also, river rally in June, possible camp armo, Jensen beach run on August 3 rd and 4th, lovers key in July

WEBMASTER: Chris could not be here so curt gave a report on website,
SECRETARY REPORT: no minutes to circulate from march since I was not there but curt said Lou gave a great talk on trailer and pwc maintenance, 22 members were present.
