Meeting Minutes - June '06
Tuesday, June 13, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by President Curt Smith
at
chowders restaurant in Melbourne. There were 14 members and 3 children
present.
OLD BUSINESS:
The trifold flyers are available for those who need some, they have been
well received by pwc owners that we have given them out to so far. See
Curt
if you need more.
NEW BUSINESS:
The club took a vote and by a 12 to 1 vote agreed to donate $100 to the
standing watch to support the cause. It is a state wide organization
that we
usually support every year to help protect our rights to ride.
PRESIDENT REPORT:
Curt reminded all members to buy apparel and wear it to club events and
rides. Curt also announced that he has flyers for our upcoming river
rally
on Saturday, July 15th, grill and hotdogs provided, prizes to be awarded
and fun to be had by all.
Curt also announced that according to the recommended water height level
in
the St. Johns from Danny Oliver, we still need about 2 - 1/2 more feet
so
keep the rain coming.
V.P. REPORT:
John Wilansky was on hand to go over special events coming up , Bimini
trip,
rally series, lovers key, Jensen beach, Suwannee river, Amelia Island,
and
he gave a brief synopsis of the camp armo picnic and ride the club just
had.
John Kerekes circulated
the latest treasury report for all to inspect , we
have aprox $1200 cash on hand and about $1500 in merchandise inventory.
EVENT COORDINATOR:
Fran Miron was present was prepared to announce the the upcoming events
and
report on recent rides but said John W. and Tom Wilson ( myself ) pretty
much covered those already and since Fran wasn't at either one it was
just
as well.( you're welcome Fran)
WEBMASTER:
Curt announced that Sherri Shields has been doing an incredible job
of
being the webmaster for over 5 years and she has been doing this with
so
many other things going on in her life with her job and family and that
she
is badly in need of a break. Chris from Maaco paint and body ( one of
curt's
employees ) has volunteered to fill in and has been doing a great job
as
well, posting pictures, minutes and info. He couldn't be here tonight
but
pledged to attend next month.
SECRETARY REPORT:
Tom Wilson ( myself ) was present and circulated a couple copies of
the
minutes from last month's meeting ,for approval. I also reported about
our
latest club cleanup with 14 members and 10 pwc's riding from the pineda
ramp to sebastian inlet and back, with lunch at RJ's on the way . That
was
quite a ride.
GUEST SPEAKERS: none
Member spotlight:
Jay Olsen, a Maaco customer ,attended the meeting a became a new member
.
He is a former motorcycle guy who use to belong to a club and is also
a boat
guy, figured combine the two and this becomes a great fit. He recently
bought a used tiger shark, which to the delight of event coordinator
Fran
Miron, doubles our tigershark numbers.
50/50 drawing:
Curt smith was the lucky winner and he donated the pot to the Standing
watch
contribution. Nice job Pres.
ADJOURNMENT:
Meeting was adjourned at 7:46pm. President Curt Smith thanked all who
attended and reminded all to encourage other members to attend future
meetings.
