Meeting Minutes — February 2006
Tuesday, February 15, 2006


The meeting was called to order at 7:14 p.m. by  President Curt Smith at Chowders restaurant in Melbourne.  There were 16 members present.

OLD BUSINESS:
This month's Cleanup was done by the club  on the usual first Saturday of the month. About 6 pounds  of trash was collected and disposed of. The cold winds  discouraged any club ride.

NEW BUSINESS:
A Daytona ride was proposed for May, ideas kicked around for promotion, fund raising and fun outings. Andy
suggested we need to be creative about promoting the club. Discussions followed about recreating the trifold handout, getting new business cards to pass out, spreading the word about the club.

PRESIDENT REPORT:
Our new president' Curt Smith suggested that a merchandise chairman would be helpful to keep track of items for sale, would like to see the member spotlight continued like Lou did last year. He also suggested that we put the spotlight on the website.

V.P. REPORT:
John Wilansky said he expected a better turnout based on his phone calls and replies earlier this week. He spoke of the runs from last year to Jensen beach and Lovers Key and reminded all to expidite their reservations for Lovers Key for this year since it is filling up quickly. He announced that he will be helping our ride coordinator with the planning of this years rides.

TREASURER REPORT:
John Kerekes circulated the latest treasury report for all to inspect, reminded all of t-shirts and rash guards at discounted prices and announced he is collecting dues and updating the club roster and emailing list.

A 50/50 drawing was held and Tim Moberley was the lucky winner of the cash, several others won some tee-shirts and other prizes. Some cash was raised for the club, but since I didn't win I honestly don't remember the amount.

EVENT COORDINATOR:
Fran Miron was present,  said he will retain his current position for a couple of months or until someone else steps up to take his place. He announced that there will be a run this Sunday at Lone cabbage at 11:00 am ( show up at 10:30 ), reminded us that the  next cleanup is March 4th,  Rally Series continuing so check the website, we will be doing a run at Camp Armo possibly in April, and Tim Mckercher is doing a Bimini run at the end of June that looks very interesting. Brad Riggle gave more info on this high profile run with chase boats, gas, accomodations, security for you truck and trailer in miami while on the run, etc.

WEBMASTER:   
Sherri Shields was present and said to make sure we send her info to post, keep her updated on rides and she will make sure they are on the website.

SECRETARY REPORT:
Tom Wilson (myself) was present and circulated a couple copies of the minutes from last month's meeting with nomination and election results of that meeting. Thanked Sherri for posting the minutes on the website each month. We had a motion to approve the minutes and did so.

LEGISLATIVE REPORT:
Curt said that all the legislators are in session right now and have their hands full so it is a tough time to help us right now.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
None.

GUEST SPEAKER:
None.

ADJOURNMENT
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm.  President Curt Smith thanked all who attended and reminded all to encourage other members to attend future meetings.
