Coast Jet Riders were well represented at this second rally, in
a series of four; 17 members were in attendance. We arrived late
Thursday evening, so we got to hang with the early arrivals and
reminisce about the past rallies. This was a very good venue because
of the room and beach location. It was a bit windy that Thursday
so we unpacked, hung in the pool and hot tub, and anxiously awaited
the next day.
Friday
morning came — we launched and did some riding, and then stopped
for lunch at Billy's Crab House. This was a real

because the food was awesome. Upon our return to the hotel, we saw
that the parking lot was starting to fill up with more skis. There
were the old faces and many new ones. It gives you a warm feeling
to attend these rallies because so many life long friendships are
formed. That evening, several of us decided to go to PJ's Seafood
Restaurant in St. Pete Beach; it was good and not bad for the price.
We got back to our rooms and some of us headed to the hot tub. After
a day of riding, that sure feels good on a sore body.
On
Saturday, there was a tour of the area guided by Tim McKercher from
Seadoo. The demo rides were provided by Bombardier and Yamaha. Both
Seadoo and Yamaha brought items for sale, making everyone happy
to be able to purchase items at great prices. Farieda and John,
from Space Coast Jet Riders, were very happy to lend a hand to Yamaha
with their activities. Rick Phillips and Jennifer Sharp from Yamaha
were in attendance; they are new comers to the rallies and it was
wonderful hanging out with them. Yamaha really stepped up for the
rallies since Rick has been on board — welcome to you both.
We cannot forget Josh Burns our most favorite photographer, he did
the article on SCJR on the St. John's River — good to see
him too. There was a dinner party that evening and it was good as
usual. As the evening progressed, some retired early to gear up
for the Poker Run while others decided to hang out and enjoy the
company of old friends.
Sunday's
Poker Run was very eventful, the wind calmed down, although it still
made the water rough. I helped out at the #2 stop with Yamaha assisting
in the event. Top winner of this run was SCJR's Brad Riggle's other
half, Cindy Harrington. Make a note to tell her not to let him take
all her Yamaha prizes. It was time to say our goodbyes to all of
our new and old friends. This is certainly not the fun part of the
rally. I would like to thank PPG, Bombardier, Yamaha, Hydro Turf,
JetSports, AWA and all those who attended for making this a very
successful rally. Future rallies date are as follows hope to see
you all there.
