| Happy Memorial Day to all veterans and thank you for the freedom
we had today to do what we love best, ride. It was a beautiful day
on the river, right Becky? Launching at Ballard were Alicia, Roddey,
Tim, Larry, Sharon and our visitors from Iowa Becky, Chuck and Ron.
We met Curt at Island 21 for our first stop and then headed towards
the Inlet. After wild stories of Monster Hole, we convinced our visitors
that they would live to tell about it, so out we all went. We rode
south a ways, but no turtles in sight this trip. We stopped by the
pavilions on our way back in as it was a little harder to get back
in than it was going out. Angie and Mike we just arriving at the Inlet
as we headed out. The plan was to go straight back to Squid Lips,
but we encountered a young man with a dead ski right off of Grant
Island. Sharon towed him to a near by island where his friends could
rescue him. We finally made it to Squid Lips and were glad as the
river was kicking up for sure. I think we pushed Becky to the limit,
but she hung in there. Mona joined us for lunch; no riding for her
right now as she still is a cast for her broken wrist. We had a great
lunch and shared stories, some true and some not so true. You know
our group. We talked of the Rally as it is less that two weeks away
and then back to Ballard we went. It is now 4:00pm as I write this
and still no rain, so it was a great holiday. For those members we
didn't see today, see you on the 6th at the Rally. We need the whole
club in attendance for that big event. UNTIL THEN, Sharon |
